ETA Five Days
07-17-2008It’s five days until I leave for the Philippines. I can’t believe my summer blew by so quickly. I’m going to miss all my friends who are going off to different colleges. I feel so unprepared. I haven’t signed up for classes, nor do I really know what to sign up for. I have a plan and everything but getting it working will be another story indeed. I have my driver’s permit, but not my license yet. It’s funny because I’ll be getting my Philippine Driver’s License before my american one. To think I almost moved to the Philippines for college. Well, U.P. would have been cool I suppose. But then getting a job back here would have been difficult.
I now realize how big a geek I am. Over the last month I’ve been doing pretty much nothing except hang out in my own room. I purchased a very expensive new computer, an Apple iMac (the nicer 20″). I have spent most of my conscious moments on it, talking to friends, editing photos, playing video games, and downloading a ridiculous amount of apps for Mac OS X for specific and odd things. The robot voice still creeps me out but I keep it announcing the time every hour because it’s cool.
I have so much stuff to pack. I haven’t packed any clothes, gadgets, or anything. I’ll probably bring home the Nintendo Wii because that’s always fun with cousins. I borrowed a nice camera from my dad, a Nikon Coolpix 8400. It’s quite wide but the resolution is much better than my dinky pocket camera. I will just have to worry about the effects from wide. I can’t take pictures from the angles I used to. We’ll see what I can do. I got a program for my Mac called Apple Aperture 2.0, an amazing image editing program. It’s hard to believe that I barely open Photoshop anymore (for images at least).
Wow, my first blog post in quite a while. I am starving. I better go eat breakfast / lunch / half of dinner. My body clock may be messed up but my stomach sure won’t let me cheat it of timely meals.
